HRAG is the only public gallery in the Wimmera and aims to work closely with art educators and practitioners across the region.   The Gallery’s Collection holds over 100 works relating directly to the Wimmera.  Comprised partly of works by artists from the Wimmera region, the Gallery also actively collects work by other artists with a regional subject matter or connection.

Some of the more notable artists who have depicted the region include Sidney Nolan, Nicholas Chevalier, Jill Orr and Arthur Boyd. In recent years HRAG has acquired works by Kaniva born Archibald Prize winner Marcus Wills, and Quantong-based Anthony Pelchen.  Other artists in our Collection with a Wimmera connection include Marion Borgelt, Alex Lyall and Neil Douglas.
