Art Unit 1 - Art and Society Outcome 2
Identify the ways in which art reflects the values, and traditions of the societies for which it is created. Many of the Gallery’s temporary exhibitions explore current issues or aspects of our own or other cultures.

Art Unit 3 - Interpreting Art Outcome 2
Interpret different aspects of an artwork’s meaning and messages, and compare artworks through formal and interpretive frameworks. See ANAYLISING ART
    Appendix E.

Studio Arts Unit 1 – Materials and techniques
Examine the use of materials and techniques in the production of artworks to achieve and convey particular ideas. During the year the Gallery organises several “Meet the Artist” programmes. This is a great opportunity for students to discuss techniques and materials with an artist whose work is being displayed.

Studio Arts Unit 2 - Ideas and styles in art works
Focuses on the visual analyses of artworks from different cultures, periods, and locations in order to understand how visual elements have been used to create aesthetic qualities, communicate ideas and develop styles.

Studio Arts Unit 4 – Art industry contexts
Analyse and discuss roles and methods in displaying art works and current art industry issues by examining: the roles of various gallery spaces, curatorial and exhibition design methods, installation, exhibition presentation, exhibition selection, conservation, storage, and publicity. Meet the Director and Curator, visit “backstage” storage and see how art works are prepared for exhibition how the gallery practises, preventative conservation, etc.
