EDENHOPE COLLEGE STUDENT’S PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION  Ends January 26, 2003 (Community Gallery). A exhibition by Kerry Hammond’s years 9 to 12 photography students from Edenhope College.

Drawings, paintings, murals by children and other clients of Noah’s Ark Family Resource. An Art is … Freedom festival exhibition.
EYE WITNESS March 11 – May 4, 2003. Photographs by Sydney photographer John Immig of refugee safe havens and protests donated to Horsham Regional Art Gallery in 2002. The images include four series – Afghan refugees working in an abattoir at Young, NSW; Kosovar safe haven at Singleton NSW; East Timorese safe haven at the East Hills Army Base, NSW; and the Green Left Sydney Protest bus to Parliament House in Canberra in 2002.

THE BODY BEAUTIFUL May 6 – July 13, 2003. Drawn from the gallery’s photographic collection this exhibition celebrates the beauty of the human body. Included are ethereal images of the female form by Graham Radley, and large-scale triptychs of body builders by Phillip Barratt. Also includes images by Peter Lyssiotis and Rick Martin.

40th anniversary exhibition of paintings and drawings by Horsham Artists Society.

CELEBRATING 20 YEARS July 15 – September 21, 2003 On July 23 2003 the Gallery celebrates 20 years in its present location in the former Municipal Offices in Wilson Street Horsham. When the Gallery opened here in 1983 two local artists – watercolourist Gwendda Smith, and photographer Con Kroker, had the first exhibitions in the new gallery. This exhibition includes three watercolours by Gwendda and a selection of Con’s photographs from the Gallery’s collection.

ICONIC IMAGES OF THE 19th and 20th CENTURY
September 23 – December 7, 2003. Photographs from Josef Lebovic Gallery in Sydney. The exhibition includes key photographic images from some of Australia’s best known photographers from the 1850s to the 1980s. All works in the exhibition will be for sale and it is hoped a number will be acquired to “fill the gaps” in the Gallery’s photographic collection.

NICAN PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION  September 23 - November 9  (Community Gallery). Photographs from the 2001 & 2002 NICAN exhibitions. A special exhibition for the Awakenings Festival in Horsham.
WHERE I GRAZED  November 11– January 4, 2004 (Community Gallery)
An exhibition of student work from Year 7 through to Year 12 in a variety of media including:  photography, lino-cut prints, pastels, ceramics and painting. The students organise all aspects of their exhibitions, including the opening.
REPLICA  January 6 – March 7 (Community Gallery). Large scale photographs exploring the automation and the mechanisation of society by presenting non-human forms on a human scale.
WOOL AWAY!! March 9 – May 2 (Community Gallery). Naïve paintings by local artist Eric Neville featuring woolsheds and the wool industry. Eric’s paintings are based on his memories and old family photographs. (A feature of the Art is … a changing land Festival)
FROM BEHIND CLOSED DOORS May 4 – June 27 (Community Gallery).
A creative response to family violence. Artworks created by support groups for people affected by family violence, to promote their health and wellbeing. Curated by Child and Family Services, Ballarat
CELEBRATING NAIDOC WEEK June 29 – August 15 (Community Gallery)
An exhibition showcasing indigenous artist of the region and celebrating NAIDOC week. Cirated by Marian Anderson & Jodie Matthews
HUGH JENKIN PHOTOGRAPHIC AWARD August 17 – October 17 (Community Gallery). Photographic prize for secondary students of the region. Sponsored by the Horsham Rotary Club ($1,000 in prize money).
GRAMPIANS REGIONAL MENTAL HEALTH EXHIBITION October 19 – November 28 (Community Gallery). Curated by Ballarat Health Services to celebrate Mental Health Week, the exhibition includes the winning artworks in the Grampians Psychiatric Services calendar art competition.
CHAMELEON ART GROUP
November 30, 2003 – late January 2005 (Community Gallery). Group exhibition from Balmoral and district artists curated by Brigitte Tresidder.
