| Jessica Schroeter: Line and Field |
|
|
| Photography Gallery |
| Line and Field is a selection of abstract works based upon recollections of pathways, roads, and geographical forms that have been outlined. The association with maps and aerial views is deliberate; the artist finds the idea of the map significant in expressing a specific place in her work. |
Mark making and the process of layering a surface can be associated with forms that change and evolve. The abstract subject is part of Schroeter’s memory and she relies on recollection to create the works. The symbols consist of signs made from memory. Through the creation of a visual record of physical places and markers, Schroeter is preserving segments of the past from a localised area within Victoria.

| The exhibition consists of a selection of paintings and drawings that form part of Schroeter’s Masters by Research project currently being undertaken through the University of Ballarat. |
