Con Kroker

Born in Horsham in 1910, Conrad Otto Kroker had a life-long love of photography.  Known and celebrated for his nature-photography Kroker received local and international recognition for his work before passing away in  Horsham on 17 June 1989.

HRAG first acquired Kroker’s work in 1977, 6 photographs from his exhibition Nature in Colour.  In 2003, Kroker’s widow, Nan, donated a series of his photographs and slides. There is currently a project underway to digitise the collection to improve access.
In recognition of Kroker’s contribution to photographic practice in the Wimmera Region HRAG hosts an annual lecture on photography in his name.

Celebrated Australian performance artist Jill Orr will discuss a series of works made at Mitre Lake near Mount Arapilies, Natimuk. Come along and meet the artist as she discusses this locally significant project. Champagne and chocolates provided..
