BEQUESTS |
| Make a Bequest |
You can make a bequest by leaving a gift to the Gallery in your will.
|
| Bequests may involve: |
|
A gift of a specific amount of money |
|
The residuary of an estate |
| |
A percentage of an estate |
|
Gifting an asset like property, artworks, or shares etc. |
We encourage you or your legal advisor discuss your intention to make a bequest to the Gallery with us prior to doing so. This helps confirm that the Gallery is in a position to comply with any terms in accordance with your wishes. |
Directions expressed in general terms provide an unrestricted bequest, allowing the Gallery flexibility in the application of the future gift. |
When a specific purpose is designated in the will, we recommend including a provision which authorises our Trustees to apply the bequest in another manner should it become impractical or impossible to apply the bequest for the purpose prescribed in the will. |
